Jaanika Peerna works are at the crossroads of digital and traditional media, often dealing with the themes of water, simplicity and silence.  She has an MFA in intermedia design from State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz, and she has worked as teaching artist at DIA Beacon, NY and the Visual Thinking Strategies project of the Soros Foundation. Peerna has had solo exhibitions in New York and in Tallinn, Estonia, her native country. Exhibitions in 2008 include Regional Triennial of Photographic Arts at the Centre of Photography at Woodstock and participation in a group show "NEW" at Galerie Lavignes-Bastille, Paris, France.

"Art does not progress over time the way technology does," says Ms. Peerna.  "Rather, the significance of an artwork depends more on whether or not it changes the way we see."

Exhibition finissage takes place on June 30th at 17.

This exhibition is made possible by Estonian Cultural Endowment,  New York Foundation for Art and Santa Helena wines.
